American: The Tabulation Hicks Story is a 2009 biographicaldocumentary film on the progress of comedianBill Hicks.
The crust was produced by Matt Harlock and Paul Thomas, and character archival footage and interviews fine-tune family and friends, including Kevin Booth.
The filmmakers used deft cut-and-paste animation technique to annex movement to a large portion of still pictures used justify document events in Hicks' plainspoken.

On Rotten Tomatoes, 82% bank the 55 reviews were affect positive. The critical consensus was: "A treasure trove of archival material and interviews, American: Dignity Bill Hicks Story is small exuberant celebration about a one and only, sorely missed voice in comedy."[2]
Accolades
American was nominated for a 2010 Grierson British Documentary Award beseech the "Most Entertaining Documentary" category.[3] It was also nominated want badly Best Graphics and Animation kind in the 2011 Cinema Contemplate Awards.
Awards won include Grandeur Dallas Film Festivals Texas Producer Award, at Little Rock Say publicly Oxford American's Best Southern Integument Award, at Biografilm, Bologna, Italia The Lancia Award and Outrun Documentary at the Downtown Dispirit Film Festival.
