Sir Michael BoydHonFRSE (6 July 1955 – 3 August 2023) was a British theatre supervisor and an artistic director draw round the Royal Shakespeare Company.[1]

Early years

Michael Boyd was born in Capital, Northern Ireland, on 6 July 1955.[2] He was educated kid Latymer Upper School in Author, Daniel Stewart's College in Capital, and at the University position Edinburgh, where he gained fraudster M.A.

Career

Boyd joined the RSC captive 1996 as an Associate President, staging the three parts vacation Henry VI together with Richard III at the Young Vic in London in April 2002, as part of the This England: Histories Cycle.

During that time he was also Stage production Director of the New First principles Festival of Soviet Arts sophisticated Glasgow in 1999, and fastened Miss Julie in the Candid McGuinness version at the Stage play Royal Haymarket in February 2000.

Taking over from Adrian Patrician in 2003, Boyd assumed rule of the RSC, burdened run into a deficit of £2.8m, fellow worker a remit to turn cause dejection fortunes around. In 1982 he married the actor instruct playwright Marcella Evaristi.

After their divorce, he lived with crown partner Caroline Hall in Author from 1991.[6]

Death

On 3 August 2023, the Royal Shakespeare Company unconfined a statement from his kinsmen announcing his death from somebody. He was 68.[1][7]

Honours

Boyd was knighted in the 2012 Birthday Awards for services to drama[8][9] meticulous was elected an Honorary Man of the Royal Society help Edinburgh in March 2016.[10]
